COUNTRY (released 01.31.12)

"Country" finds GPGDS exploring new territory with a lyrically-driven, country roots style. 10 songs touching on themes of love separated by distance, and reflections on the tumultuous times that we live in. "Country" showcases the memories of songs as they were first created and performed: while on the road riding in the van, jamming backstage, and in the homes of friends. Recorded at Scanhope Sound in Colorado during summer 2011, "Country" is an immensely personal album.

This set contains 10 sounds, total time: 43.46

SLOW DOWN (released 03.10.06)

SLOW DOWN was released on March 10, 2006. This was the first official release from GIANT PANDA GUERILLA DUB SQUAD. It was recorded at Pyramid Studios in Ithaca, NY and was produced by the band and Alex Perialas during 2005. It was a highly educational and wonderful experience mainly because of the above forces.

The personnel of the band was quite different. James Searl, Chris O'Brian, and Matthew O'Brian laid down the bare bones of the tracking and were joined on additional days by Dylan Savage.  The keyboards were played by Nathan Silas Richardson of Sim Redmond Band, 10 Ft. Ganja Plant, John Browns Body and more. It was an enormous treat for us to work with Nate.  Grant Skribe Atkins can be heard on percussion throughout the album as well as a vocal performance on Seasons Change. Additional percussion was played by Charlie Shew.  The melodica on track 1, 12 was played by Rachel Orke. Matthew O'Brian and Rachel Orke went on to form THUNDER BODY where they play some of the songs found on SLOW DOWN. All of the music and lyrics on SLOW DOWN were written by James Searl and Matthew O'Brian except the lyrics for "Incognito" written by that sweet man Tom Robbins.  All of the music was performed by the musicians written about above. It is really a great album.
